An Artist at Work
It's painting day at Snoqualmie Pass Studio no matter the weather!
If you are interested in classes here at our mountain studio, email me at [email protected] . I can give you instruction in painting (watercolor, acrylic, or oil painting), drawing, calligraphy, pen and ink drawing, mixed media, block printing, or gouache painting. My years as an artist have spanned over 6 decades now. Some of the places I've made my mark as a commercial artist/illustrator and as a teacher: The Spokesman Review Newspaper, The Crescent Dept. Store, King's Press (Christa Ministries), Seattle Pacific University-as an instructor for teachers to earn college credit through art integration method classes in the Tahoma School District (Maple Valley, Wash.), Auburn Christian School, The Tahoma School District, Lake Retreat Campus Ministries, Washington State Arts in Education Committee, and Music in the Mountains Festival at Snoqualmie Pass, and the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council. I can provide instruction for your small group, a day of art therapy for you, or just individual lessons. I work from process to product, with kids from ages 6-96! You may purchase my work in the form of cards, prints, or original pieces. I have also done many commissions. Please feel free to contact me at my email address (listed above). A day of art in our mountain studio will leave you with a feeling of peace and accomplishment as you learn new methods, gaze at the Alpine Lakes National Wilderness Area from our chalet windows, and relax to the soothing music of migrating summer song birds!
Painting from photographs: Sometimes during a session of painting, I bring a series of local scenes up on my computer or open an album and we pick favorite parts to depict in watercolor, prisma color pencil, or pen and ink. You will also get to meet our two resident studio cats, Gouda (the big cheese) and Frankie (the snub-nosed Persian). May all of this inspire you to explore new avenues of creativity!
To order prints or cards, you may contact me at: [email protected]
